Courses in Glasgow & Edinburgh

We run regular workshops & courses in Glasgow, Edinburgh & at the Dojo in South Lanarkshire & occasional taster workshops in other parts of Central Scotland.

Taster workshops provide an uplifting & accessible introduction to the world of taiko drumming, learning the basic technique & a short rhythm.

Longer courses in Glasgow & Edinburgh (8 x weekly sessions) are designed to take the participant from the first introductory level, through to learning a full taiko drumming piece, performed at a "sharing" event for friends & family at the end of the 8-week course.

Our Glasgow base is the convenient Community Central Hall, near the junction of Great Western Road & Maryhill Road, easily accessible by public transport. On Tuesday evenings we run a beginners course at 6:00 - 7:30pm, and a regular intermediate group called "Taiko Night" at 7:30 - 9:30pm.

Our Edinburgh base is the spectacular St John's Church, centrally located at the corner of Prnce's Street & Lotian Road. On Monday evenings we run a beginners course at 6:30 - 8:00pm, and a "Taiko Night" regular intermediate group at 8:00 - 10:00pm.

If you're interested in an overall introduction to taiko rather than learning a performance piece, we'd recommend joining one of our introductory weekend workshops at the Mugen Taiko Dojo in South Lanarkshire instead. Accommodation is also available for the weekends if needed.
