Taster Workshop in Edinburgh

Taiko drumming - "Wadaiko" - is an energetic, physical and highly choreographed art form. Originally from Japan, with roots going back hundreds of years and encompassing a variety of styles, rhythms and movement, this traditional folk art is now developing and spreading as a modern European art form.

Now is the chance for people here in Scotland to experience a full workshop of this exciting discipline which is energetic & fun & learnt alongside other taiko enthusiasts!

The Edinburgh workshop will take place from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on Mon 18th April.

This workshop is designed to be suitable for both beginners & improvers, and will take the participants step by step from the stance, to the bachi drumstick grip through to learning a short performance piece.

If you have previous experience in taiko, you may be interested in our "Taiko Night" group, which meets at 8-10pm on Mondays at the same venue.
