Join us for this one off taster class which will act as a broad introduction to this ancient art-form. The session will begin with the fundamentals, the stance and the grip, progressing to playing some of the main jiuchi base rhythms of taiko.
The rhythms will be taught in the traditional way - verbally, so don't worry if you can't read music. The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over and of any level of fitness, whether you're an experienced drummer or have never held a pair of drumsticks before - all are welcome.
After the session, if you are eager to learn more and take your playing to the next level, there will be an opportunity to sign up for our regular Taiko Night course which will begin the following week.
