Taiko Drumfest - East Kilbride

A concert featuring 40 drummers onstage, ranging from the professional players of Mugenkyo to course participants, with the main part of the concert showcasing the growing talents of the members of the Mugen Taiko Dojo. The concert was held at the East Kilbride Village Theatre, our most local theatre venue.

Due to the recent disaster in Japan, we decided to make the Drumfest a fundraiser for the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal, and we were delighted to raise £2,200 for the appeal, consisting of the full proceeds of the night, the proceeds of a raffle (a big thank you for the generous donation of prizes) & a donation by South Lanarkshire Council. Thank you to all who contributed & everyone who took part in the fundraising event. It was but a small drop in the ocean in what will be a huge reconstruction effort in Japan, but we were delighted that we were able to give back a small amount to the country which gave us so much & set us on our taiko path.
